The Covers project

About Covers timber and builders merchants:

As aforementioned Covers has generously pledged to donate three Mercedes rigid crane lorries, a forklift and a rescue vehicle to UktoUkraine. 

Covers are a local, family-owned Builder & Timber Merchants with 15 depots, working with the building trade and open to the public. Check out their website with the link below, they are a great company.

The estimated cost for this is £50,000, to make the best use of the lorries’ capacity. 

PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY TO HELP THIS VERY IMPORTANT WORK IN UKRAINE

Covers and UKtoUkraine are asking for your support to: 

PAY – for the costs of the journey to Ukraine

BUY – 2x 20' containers

FILL – the containers with urgently needed supplies or donate funds for the following items:-

Large – Bobcat loader and Angle Broom, Commercial washing machines, Mortuary freezers; 

Medium – Water transfer pumps, Fire extinguishers, Foil 3M for windows, Sealer for windows, 

Small – IN BULK - any new Medical Supplies; Dried Food; Canned Food; Hygienic products

TRANSPORTING THE TRUCKS TO UKRAINE

The three trucks destinations are Bakhmut and Kherson (approx.. 1,900 miles from Chichester)

To make the most of this long journey we need to maximise the loads on the three vehicles...

Lorry 1 - will carry the forklift and the rescue vehicle.

Lorry 2 – supplies bought and donated by you

What happens once the Lorries are in Ukraine?

Once in Ukraine the plan that StaySafeUA has for the lorries (which may change as the situation is so dynamic) is:

Lorry 1 - To use for loading and transporting, the rescue vehicles, generators and aid pallets in Eastern Ukraine, Currently they hire lorries for this purpose.

Lorry 2 - To carry and transport a bakery for displaced people. StaySafeUA are converting a container into a bakery to be located adjacent to their shelter in Konstantynivka (outside Bakhmut)

Lorry 3 - To carry and transport a custom shower container (containing six shower cabins, water storage containers, and a plumbing system that can operate without a reliable water source)
